Apps that may make your post-divorce life easier

You may have heard the phrase, “There is an app for that.” Ingenious techies continue to work on developing new apps for your mobile phone that assist with all sorts of issues, and you can even find one to help you cope with life after divorce.

Here are four apps that support the new look of family relationships and help you keep your sanity in the post-divorce world:

SquareHub

App founder Dave Cotter, a veteran of both Amazon and Oracle who went through a divorce of his own, wanted to make co-parenting easier for divorced families. With SquareHub, you can make good use of a shared calendar, great for scheduling to-dos like dental appointments, vacations and the kids’ extracurricular activities. The free app also gives you text messaging and photo sharing capabilities.

SupportPay

Designed by a single mom, this free app makes it easy for you to monitor child support and alimony payments. You can also track payments for items such as medical bills and the children’s activities.

2houses

This is a free app that helps divorced couples become more organized at the job of co-parenting. There is a shared calendar section and a list-making section. The app also supports the tracking of expenses and the sharing of photos and comments.

OurFamilyWizzard

With this app, you have a virtual diary, a shared calendar and tools for expense tracking. The app also allows you to share your child’s medical records. The cost is $99/year per parent.

Support is essential

It is not easy to move on after divorce and still maintain a good family relationship, and you are sure to look favorably upon anything that helps, like the aforementioned apps. However, it is also true that totally unexpected issues can arise, and some may seem insurmountable. When an app is not enough to help you through a serious problem, you can rely on support from an experienced family law attorney.
